Cultivate

Cultivate, formerly known as Baila, has been a community favorite since it started. This program is sponsored by the Tennessee Arts Commission and is specifically for children between the ages of 5-17 where we provide after-school and summer activities. After-school classes include, but are not limited to Mexican Folklore Dance, Ballet, Piano, Guitar, Singing, and karate (Nashville Shotokan). During the summer, we offer Soccer (Phoenix Soccer Club), Robotics (Meharry Medical College and Aim-Ahead) and Street Hockey (Predators) clinics. At the end of the semesters, we host either a recital or final tournament so students can showcase the progress with their friends and families.

The cultivate program has created a safe and joyful space where children can express themselves, discover new talents, and meet new peers who may turn out to become a great friendship. Families share that their child is always so excited to come to class and can’t wait to be back once they leave. Confidence within the student also grows throughout the year as teachers are preparing them for their big final presentation. Cultivate continues to provide an enriching environment for the youth in our community.
